Want To Be A Candidate?
If you're a veteran, you qualify. Our belief is that all veterans should have access to resources to enrich their lives, in turn improving their mental health. If you are a veteran with a passion for aviation, a willingness to complete the process to get your Private Pilots License, and can pass a flight physical, we encourage you to apply using the information found below.
What You Will Need
Unfortunately, we can't put every veteran through flight training. It is a true commitment of time and resources. It costs ~$15,000 to put a single veteran through flight training. As such, we have a screening process to ensure the applicant has a genuine and deep desire to get into the cockpit. You will need to submit the below documentation to the email address listed below to be considered.
- DD214 (We use this to prove service only. We do not discriminate on your occupational specialty or experience.)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Personal statement
- Proof of medical clearance from FAA-cleared Aviation Medical Examiner (AME)
How It Works
Once your complete packet has been submitted, we add you to a roster for review. If there are questions about your packet or candidacy, one of our team members will reach out for clarification. Our leadership team meets every other month to evaluate candidates. Given the financial commitment to put a veteran through flight training, we are unable to put through every qualified candidate immediately. When a veteran is voted to join the Veteran Aviator family, that veteran is placed on a candidate roster. When we have financial resources to support a candidates full training cycle, that veteran is setup to begin training, which may be begin immediately or a couple of months in the future as resources are available. Any veteran accepted into the program is notified of acceptance, as well as the anticipated start date.
